Question: Is there any such thing as a cheap wedding invitation?
(Posted by: -nothing- on 2010-01-25 14:01:58)
I can't seem to find any way of saving money on wedding invitations. I want to spend around $100 or less on 50 invitations. Is this even possible? |

Make your own. Look at target, they have some great invitation kits for $20-$50 and they come with everything for 50 invitations. |

You can buy nice paper from somewhere like JoAnne fabrics or a craft store and print your own. You can also buy packs of 50 blank invitations and you print the info in them. |

Yeah, just buy some fancy paper at a stationary or art supply store and print them out yourself on the computer. You can use a program like photoshop or something to add nice lettering, pictures, graphics like those little scrolls/ borders. |

Hand write your own. I would rather receive a personal, hand-written invitation than an expensive one churned out en masse by a printer. |

I am making my own since I am a graphic Designer. I bought the pink paper at michaels, that was 20$, and Velum about 15$, ribbon 15$, and the Printing will be about 30$ since its 2 invites to 1 piece of paper. And then postage and im done. I have to have like less than 50 invites. Something like 35-40 invites. for 64 people. = ) Good Luck! and Congrats! |

Go to walmart or target, buy a kit and print your own. You will definitely be able to find them for less than $100. I bought 50 invitations for $18 at walmart. They are nice too. Obviously not fancy or elaborate, but they are on good white paper, with a classic border. The pack also came with envelopes, reply cards, menu cards and extras to test your printer with. |

YES!!! i made 250 invitations for my wedding for 75 dollars...as long as you have a printer you can make gorgeus wedding invites from a kit! if you go to your local walmart, micheals, or pat catans craft stores go to the wedding department and they come with kits for everything you need to make complete wedding invites, rsvp cards, and all envelopes they come in boxes of 25 - 50 depending on the design of the card stock you choose, and they run between 15-30 dollars a box! and they are BEAUTIFUL PROFESSIONAL quality invites...also it gives you a website to go to and it will give you differenet styles and saying to use on the invites, and your print them right fromt he website! awesome! i would recommend it to everyone! |

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! Making your own invitations can be a lot of fun. A majority of DIY invites have instructions on how to make your ideal invites. Below are a simple invitations with a platinum silver boarder that has 50 invites along with response cards and envelopes for $45.50. Why don't you use this or something similar and use a Monotype Cursive font? Simple, but lovely. weddingsbydezign.com/ invitations-more/ do-it-yourself-invitations/ platinum-border-invitation-kit.html There are also so other designs as well that are in your budget. It sure is- if you make them yourself. Haha. ^_^ I've found that retailers will over-price anything when the word "wedding " is added to it. |

I made my own and spent $9.50 on 50. Only took half of a day and looked professionally done. That price included Invites, RSVP cards, reception cards, inner envelope, and outer envelope. If you're looking at invites online, make sure to request samples. I decided to do my own invites after realizing the poor quality of many of the invites on the web. Good luck and congratulations!! |

Either use email invites or go find a printer. The printers who don't advertise for wedding things will generally give you a better price. Look for a printer who advertises for business cards and posters, they know what they're doing and they're good at designs. |

Less than $100 for fifty invites is very very possible, as long as you are willing to print your own invites and assemble them yourself. I got mine from michael's and paper source (if you don't have a store in your area, you can buy online at paper-source.com). i think i spent about $200 for 80 invites, 80 rsvp cards, 80 reception cards, 120 thank you cards and 120 programmes. Good luck and watch out for those sales in michaels and paper source! :) |

There are many kits available from stores such as Target, Walmart, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Office Max, etc. You get 50 invites, 50 envelopes, 50 RSVP cards and envelopes. You simply bring them home; format them yourself on your computer (this part does take a little time), and print them off. The kits sell anywhere from $15 (on clearance) to $30-$35 max. This is very, very reasonable and there are so many choices. |

I did mine off of VistaPrint.com I did a total of 125 invites, response cards, envelopes, and 300 address labels for $95.26. That price included shipping. They are gorgeous, on nice card stock, and they shipped them to within 3 weeks! I love them and they are perfect! |
