Spanish flare wedding tips?
I'm going to have a beach wedding next spring and a reception in a tented area overlooking the ocean in Long Island. My fiance's from Venezuela, so I would like to incorporate his heritage into our wedding. I'm thinking of having red and yellow floral arrangements for my bridesmaids & centerpieces, which I think would go along with a Spanish theme. Also, my family is from Brazil, so I'd like to incorporate some traditions food bossa nova music into our wedding.Also, I'd like to have either Tapas Mexican food Brazilian food as well as sangrias mojitos at our reception and Latin Jazz. Any menu suggestions? I really love Asian paper lanterns and am thinking of getting them in either ivory or light yellow to hang from the tent ceiling. Do you think this will go with a Spanish theme??Do you have any other suggestions for combining a Spanish Brazilian flare to my wedding?Thank you

I'm wondering if anyone out there has hand drawn their own wedding invitations or those of friends, etc. . If so, how did you like it? Did they come out elegantly or with the desired effect ?I would love to see them Art is a huge part of my personal life and I would absolutely love to draw my invitations, but I don't think I'll come up with anything that I see as special because I did it myself.Also, I would like to design if not also hand make my favors, centerpieces, place cards, jewelry, hair accessories, bridesmaids accessories, and groomsmen boutonnieres.Does anyone have any wedding DIY tips? My fiance and I are going to be getting married sometime next week and we have kind of started our planning but we are on a really low budget. We don't want a huge wedding but we do want mostly close family and friends there so I was just asking around for any good money saving tips so that we can let all of our family and friends be present but still have a great wedding.I'm sorry I did not proof read that very well. What beach wedding destination is better? Beach wedding tips? HELP!?
I live in the Pittsburgh PA, we are looking to have a beach wedding. I really like Myrtle beach. My parents are pushing for Virginia beach since its closer. I was wondering what beach is better?We are planning either a late April 2011 or an early Oct 2011 wedding. Depending on how money & vacation days from work works out. My parents have never been to either beach, I have only been to Myrtle once my fiance & his family have been going to Myrtle for years. Neither of our families are paying for our wedding. That is why we picked an destination wedding its cheaper. My parents will help pay for the " welcome back" picnic at their house when we come back. Our plan is to find a house on the beach, have just the bridal party stay with us for a few days. Get married & then kick everyone out so we can have some kind of " honeymoon" . My fiance will only have 5 days vacation at that time. I don't care if people stay in the area but we need our own space then.If everyone we invite comes & brings a guest we will have 26 people coming to our wedding that includes bride & groom but I don't see his sisters bring any one, our rule is you have to be dating them at least 6 months we are paying for random people to come to the biggest day of our life then never see them again Wedding party can bring who ever.His sisters are the only ones that have that rule. I told the 1 about it today...to be honest his sisters are the type that will invite some random guy. Just to say they brought a date. Who will be under age want to drink, want to party & want us or their mom to pay for EVERYTHING. The reason why they aren't bridesmaids is for that reason. They are very immature.

Okaaay I have the following left to pay for for the wedding that is September 6th.DJ $200Minister $200Marriage license $100Bridal party gifts 4 of them $150candy buffet instead of favours $150groomsmen golfing morning of wedding $100wedding bands $300clothing for our kids to wear to wedding $125rehersal dinner night before for close family friends $250Hair makeup $100thank you cards for after wedding & shower $40Rest of the catering bill $400 parents are paying other $3000 I am thinking about skipping getting my hair & makeup done and doing it myself. I am buying basic blank cards from a craft store and stamping my own thank you cards. We have a contract with the DJ otherwise we would just use a laptop for music... but we can't now.We're not handing out favours, but having a candy buffet. Buying candy in bulk, putting it in bowls and stamping white paper bags with our wedding colours and design. how can I cut down on bridal party gift costs? I paid for their dresses. I am really trying to keep their gifts at around $100, not the budgeted $150... was thinking about framing a nice picture of me with each of the girls and giving them as gifts, along with a mini spa kit bath bombs, lotions, scrubs, etc .I just bought the dress for my daughter on clearance for $19 now my son needs khakis, a white golf shirt, and both kids need shoes. Was thinking about how to spend less on the rings a brushed white gold titanium silver band for hubby, and a white gold band for myself. Where is the cheapest we can get them? Online is fine, as long as they will arrive on time.I also need to buy the following tea lightsspool of raffiawhite paper bagsplacecards & bulletin board for place cardsmini plant pots with greenery in themtullegreen and chocolate brown ribbonsome fake green button mums or something similara big wreath form to make a wreath with the flowersany ways i can cut down these costs even more? i know this has probably been asked 1,000,000 times, but i need to know A how many people did you invite to your wedding, and how many actually came?B what was the total cost of your wedding. not including ringsC did you have a wedding planner, and how much did the charge? ok i am getting married in a year from now what all should i be thinking of the most. and getting now. I have been ordering things for decorations that i know will be ok waiting that long. I dont know what all i really need to be looking into and all that either. Then the gifts for my attendants what do you get the attendants if you have a somewhat of a low budget. i just need all the tips and advice i can get through this.i almost forgot to add in there. i have my 13 year old nephew who is also going to be involved he is helping my fiances 5 year old cousin with the aisle runner for future ideas what would i get them as a gift? would i just get them something that they are into or what would i do?

Hey everyone After thinking about all the planning and money that go into the large traditional weddings I am thinking that I just want to have a small wedding, with our parents,siblings, grandparents and closest friends. My family is HUGE and if I were to invite them all aunts uncles cousins I would probably be running around 125 on just my side alone, where as the number I came up with for just my closest friends and family would be about 35, and he would have the same number as well. I am thinking of having a laid back wedding, and only phoning the people to invite them, only planning it about a month or so in advance to cut down on the stress we are not yet engaged yet, but have been together for 3 years so its literallyjust a matter of him buying the ring, which he has told me he can't decide on one yet, haha and kind of keep it a secret from everyone else or just inform them about the idea of having our CLOSEST family friends. We won't have any larger than 1 person each for a wedding party, and that might just be to have them come up and sign our ppaper We will have my sister officiate, and have it at her house, with just like a beef on a bun and salad type of meal. Something small, where we will really be able to connect with all of our guests and have it be very casual.I am wondering if anyone else has done this type of wedding, how it went over with the rest of the family and if you would have changed anything? any other comments, tips and ideas will be GREATLY appreciated
